L’Atelier&Gallery PAPER PROJECT VENICE di Anita Cerpelloni aderisce al tema della Biennale Arte 2024 di Venezia, “Stranieri ovunque – Foreigners everywhere”, proponendo una serie di esposizioni di LIBRI d’ARTISTA da realizzare a Venezia, in periodi ancora da calendarizzare tra luglio a ottobre 2024.
“Qual è il confine tra libro d’artista e libro d’arte? Quali autori si sono dedicati con maggior intensità al libro d’artista? Per fare chiarezza e tracciare un perimetro preciso, Giorgio Maffei nel 2001 accettò la proposta della rivista “Wuz”, diretta da Ambrogio Borsani, di tenere una rubrica fissa dedicata al libro d’artista. Mallarmé, Boetti, Andy Warhol, Munari, Damien Hirst, Kokoschka, Queneau, Manzoni e tanti altri: i maggiori autori del mondo dell’arte furono protagonisti di molti importanti interventi che ora vengono qui raccolti in un volume. Il LIBRO D’ARTISTA è stato centrale nella mia ricerca artistica, da qui il progetto di organizzare e strutturare una serie di esposizioni a Venezia sul tema: STRANIERI OVUNQUE – FOREIGNERS EVERYWHERE.
Ho creato molti libri d’artista e libri-oggetto per diverse esposizioni italiane e straniere; carica di quest’esperienza quasi ventennale nello studio e nella produzione di questo genere di opere, ho accolto il tema della Biennale d’Arte Venezia di quest’anno come uno stimolo ulteriore per la mia ricerca e per il coinvolgimento di artisti che si sono distinti in questo ambito.
Misurarsi con l’“Estraneità” e con le mille sfaccettature intrinseche di questa parola, non può che essere stimolante per gli artisti, il loro ruolo di testimoni e interpreti del loro tempo e di tutte le valenze storiche e culturali delle loro produzioni artistiche è certamente importante.
BANDO DI PARTECIPAZIONE:
Si propongono esposizioni suddivise in trance di tre settimane consecutive
con la partecipazione di artisti diversi nei vari periodi, inviare entro il 25 giugno
-concept e titolo del Libro d’Artista,
-Una biografia dell’artista di 2000 parole e una breve di max 300 parole (da pubblicare online),
-Minimo tre foto in alta definizione (300DPI), anche di qualche particolare significativo.

This is the theme of the 2024 Venice Art Biennale, “Stranieri ovunque – Foreigners everywhere”. The Atelier&Gallery PAPER PROJECT VENICE of Anita Cerpelloni proposes this theme for a series of exhibitions of ARTISTS’ BOOKS that will take place in Venice, in different periods from July to October 2024.
“What is the boundary between an artist’s book and an art book? Which authors have dedicated themselves most intensely to artists’ books? To clarify and draw a precise perimeter, in 2001 Giorgio Maffei accepted the proposal of the magazine “Wuz”, directed by Ambrogio Borsani, to keep a regular column dedicated to artists’ books. Mallarmé, Boetti, Andy Warhol, Munari, Damien Hirst, Kokoschka, Queneau, Manzoni and many
others: the major authors of the art world were protagonists of many important interventions which are now collected here in a volume. The ARTIST’S BOOK has been central to my artistic research, hence the project to organise and structure a series of exhibitions in Venice on the theme: STRANIERI OVUNQUE – FOREIGNERS EVERYWHERE. I have created many artist books and object-books for various Italian and foreign exhibitions; loaded with this almost twenty-year experience in the study and production of this type of work, I welcomed the theme of this
year’s Art Biennial Venice as a further stimulus for my research and for the involvement of artists who have distinguished themselves in this area.
Dealing with “Foreignness” and with the thousand intrinsic facets of this word can only be stimulating for artists, their role as witnesses and interpreters of their time and of all the historical and cultural values of their artistic productions is certainly important.
NOTICE OF PARTICIPATION:
The exhibition will be divided into three consecutive weeks proposing one or more exhibitions with the participation of different artists in the various periods.
The selection will begin on June 25th by which date the artist has to send :
– the concept and title of the Artist’s Book,
– a biography of the artist (2000 word and one of 300 words for the web)
– at least three high definition photos (300DPI), also some significant details.

The first selection will be made by 30 June of the artists who will have to send their Artist’s Books by
post no later than DEADLINE 15 July 2024, paying the participation fee (only those selected).
Each artists can submit up to three books.
DIMENSIONS OF THE WORK: 25-30 cm H – 15-20 cm L, these measurements must be respected,
otherwise it will not be accepted for exhibition.
